Zeist is a medium-sized town in the Utrecht Province, which is located in the central Netherlands. It has a population of around 60,000, which is the 53rd largest population among the approximately 500 municipalities in the Netherlands. Zei st is the largest town in Utrecht Hilly areas, which is about a 15 minute drive (about 10km) from the Provincial capital Utrecht. If you drive from Amsterdam, it takes about 45 minutes or about a 60 minute drive from Rotterdam, the second largest city in the countly, and The Hague where the central governmental offices are concentrated. Because of its advantageous location in the middle of the Netherlands linked directly to these important cites, Zeist is especially suitable for the service industry; and additionally, companies and organizations not only from the nation but also from around the world establish their offices there, including KNVB(Dutch Royal Football Federation), WWF(the World Wildlife Fund), and the Dutch Society for the Protection of Birds. Zeist also has scenic beauty with beautiful green landscapes and the abundant heritage sites and buildings. One popular site is the Zeist Castle, which was built as a small replica of the Palace of Versailles.
